The Second Group of Young Hungarians Set to Travel to the USA

With the support of American partner organizations, the second group of Hungarian HAESF winners is ready to depart for the United States. Like last year's 20 scholarship winners, this group has been given the opportunity to travel to the States for additional training and research in their respective fields.
Discussing last year's program, Executive Director Elizabeth Simon recounted: "Our aim with the Hungarian-American Enterprise Scholarship Fund was to foster the individual professional development of the scholarship winners and exchange knowledge and experience between Hungarian and American professionals." The American government has acknowledged the success of this particular fund, marking it as a model for similar international programs and prompting host companies and organizations to propose similar ventures. Winners have included scholars in the fields of business, natural and social sciences, public health, cardiology and a variety of other programs which they can use to benefit the economic and social growth of Hungary. This time around, three professionals from the fields of engineering, biology, and history have submitted a group proposal aiming for the application of American techniques to preserve and develop Hungarian national parks. Elizabeth Simon also noted that the "HAESF fills a gap among the various scholarships in that it offers programs of an expressly practical nature." Application deadlines for HAESF's programs are twice a year - April 1 and October 1. For additional information regarding applications, please visit:
